Disney+ has just launched and it’s already the best streaming platform around. Instead of waiting for the next quality streaming series (I said quality, not quantity), Disney is releasing several new shows and movies right out of the gate that is already better than anything Netflix has released.
Sorry Netflix fans, here’s why you’ll be switching priority to Disney+
You can get a 7-day trial
Just like Netflix once offered, wait, they still do, but everyone has Netflix now. With Disney+, you’ll be able to try it out for 7 days to see if you’ll like it. A risky move by Disney since people will likely binge the new shows like The Mandalorian, and that Jeff Goldblum show.
Disney+ Content is just plain incredible
We’ll cut the fluff and tell you what you get with Disney+:
- Every Marvel Movie
- Every Star Wars Movie
- Every Disney Movie (yes, those classic ones too!)
- Every Simpsons Episode (yes, Disney bought those guys too)
- New and Exciting Content likeThe Mandalorian
- Plus new content to be released!
Why exactly is this so good? Welp…your kids will like it and so will you!
Here’s a snapshot of the content to be released on Disney+
The small stuff counts too
So there’s also some other neat features that come with Disney+. Features that are nice add-ons…stuff like:
- Pay yearly, $70 and save a few bucks
- Download shows and movies onto devices for internet-free viewing
- Get new show notifications delivered to your email once they are released
Disney+ vs Netflix
Netflix has sort of dropped the ball when it comes to its new content. Like a needle in a haystack, you’ll have a hard time finding something worthy of your time…and $10-$15 per month. On the other hand, if your still new to Netflix, you may want to hold off on adding yet another service to your bill count.
Disney is only $6.99/mo out of the gate, and while that may change it’s actuallycheaper than Netflix.
One major point that wasn’t totally publicated from Disney is that it won’t hostanyrated R content. Yes, so don’t expect any Game of Thrones-esque content to be released on the platform.
Disney actually owns Hulu too, so it’ll be weird to see what happens here. *UPDATE* Hulu and ESPN+ is an additional add-on for $5…makes sense! One thing to note here is that Hulu will be the primary recipient of any rated R content. Keep an eye on Hulu for Logan, Deadpool, and new content geared towards adults.
For Major Network tv, Hulu is a nice supplement to get that content the day after. We’ve noticed that not all networks are giving Hulu it’s the latest content though, so be wary.
Disney+ doesn’t have major network shows, but it will continue to roll out new and exciting content that will rival any streaming service.
