For those who prefer red over blue, at least in the superstore approach, you’ll be pleased to find that Target offers their shoppers unusual and engaging ways to save at their online and brick and mortar stores. Use these tips, and you’ll end up saving not only massive amounts of money over time, but you’ll have fun doing it!
Make Money with Target’s Affiliate Program
- Make Money with Target’s Affiliate Program
- Save Money at Target
- Target’s REDCard vs. Walmart and Amazon
Target is always adapting and changing to make sure its influencers and affiliate are happy and producing. This means that if you have started a blog, or are interested in making some extra money with Target…you can!
- Found on the Impact Radius Network
- Commissions are similar to that of Walmart and Amazon
- One of the few affiliate programs that do reward a DEBIT card
- Managed by multiple managers (so you won’t go unnoticed)
Impact Radius Network
Although we wish we can say it would be easier to apply to the Target affiliate program if they hosted their program through their e-commerce outlet, Target.com, they do not so you’ll have to apply to become an Affiliate of Impact Radius, an up and coming affiliate network. Impact (Radius) is a high-quality network that hosts a significant number of noteworthy merchants. We’ve ranked them Number 1 on our Affiliate Network rankings because it’s a beautiful network and has a dashboard you’ll learn to love. Here are some of the top merchants we’ve found on the network:
- UBER Driver
- H&M (Private)
- Blue Apron
- Atom Tickets
- many more coming
With these types of merchants incoming, it’s no wonder we find ourselves continually checking the network to see the latest one that has joined Impact.
There are a few cons of working with Impact though, and if you are looking to work with Target alone, you may find these to be annoying:
- Payouts are a tad slower on this network comparatively
- It’s an extra layer to apply to the Target.com Affiliate Program
- Although it’s pretty, finding merchants could be confusing at first
Like Amazon and Walmart, the Target competitors, you’ll note that electronics is a category that does not pay well at all. Even Best Buy the popular marketplace for electronics pays 1% on computers and 0% on Apple Products. In other words, don’t push electronics! (our opinion)
Warning: Major Affiliate Hack Below!!
There is one major selling point that Target.com has that other big players don’t have and that’s the rewarding commission for referring others to their REDcard. The REDcard is mostly a permanent 5% coupon for every single purchase online and in-store at Target.
Although there are Affiliate Programs for Credit Cards, Debit cards, on the other hand, are rarely pushed at all. This is an opportunity for those willing to pursue it!
For every REDcard (debit or credit) you refer, you can get up to $8. Sure it’s not a huge number, but the value proposition is there to start with.
More about the Commission Structure
So back to the actual structure, generally speaking, depending on your popularity you can always look to negotiate higher commissions!
- Home and Garden is 5% Commission
- Apparel and Clothing is 5% Commission
- Baby Related is 3% Commission
- Healthy and Beauty 1% Commission
- Electronics is 0% Commission
Most of these won’t impress you or win you over from Walmart or Amazon, but along with the REDcard, Target’s unique affiliate program allows you to earn more based on performance. Should you refer 11 sales or more, there is a 5% increase in commission.
We’ve been told this INCLUDES CERTAIN ELECTRONICS
Is Target.com’s Affiliate Marketing Program For You?
- An alternative to Amazon and Walmart
- Performance Bonuses if you refer at least11 sales or more
- You can push a DEBIT Card
- Get approved on Impact, apply for other programs like Kohl’s
It’s certainly worth a look for those who are inclined to post about deals. Target’s application includes membership into the Impact network with a bevy of quality merchants if you take away anything its that you get access to these merchants as well!
Save Money at Target
If you haven’t already done so, you should use this app to save at Target. Once Cartwheel is loaded into your Android or iOS smartphone you’ll see products available for discount. Cartwheel is now automatically installed when you download the Target app.
Once ready, select the products manually after looking through your list, or better yet, scan the product at the store and see if there is a discount available on the app! Note: You’ll see on the app that generic Target brands like Simply Balance are usually put on the app. Take advantage!
2: Target’s Red Card
With zero fees on both the credit and debit options for the Target Red Card, you’ll get 5% discounted on every purchase at Target. Use Target.com? Get the discount there in addition to free shipping on a lot of items plus an extra 30 days for returns!
The popular cashback website where all you have to do is shop their portal and click on Target for a few cents-dollars of cash back. You’ll need to become a member first, and they do give you a bonus of $10 (Target, Amazon, and more) if you reach a certain threshold of cash back.
4: Ibotta and Earny
We wrote about ibotta on our ways to save at the grocery store, but these types of apps also apply to significant chains as well! Download the app, scan the receipt, and see if there are relevant products for cash back. With Earny, they will scan for price changes when you hook up your Target.com email to the app, once they find a price change, they’ll give you most of the modification back into your wallet!
This fantastic app will find your local circulars and give you the ability to highlight the products you want. Target makes it on there, but if you want an alternative try Retale.
6: Coupons at Target.com
Cartwheel isn’t the only way to save big at Target. Use their digital coupon site here, select the coupons you would like and then print them out for redemption at the check-out line.
7: Gift Registries
Although no significant discounts are given during the time you have the registrylive. Once your event has passed and you have leftover items, you’ll be able to buy them for 15% off!
8: Target Trade-In
This little-known part of the Target company gives you the ability to trade in electronics (and other products) in return for Target Gift Cards. There was once an even an event for a Car Seat trade in earlier in 2017.

Many stores offer sweepstakes and opportunities for gift cards when you fill out information about your most recent visit. Walmart offers a grand prize of $1000 in Gift Cards every few months! Target is also one of the stores that provide such an opportunity, and because the retail giant is always improving, your feedback is essential.
How To Enter InformTarget
Once you’ve obtained your receipt, like most other receipts, check the front or bottom of the receipt for survey opportunities. For Target, they’ll occasionally run sweepstakes offer for their survey feedback when they are looking to reward customers for opinions. On our most recent trip to Target, there was no advertised Sweepstakes opportunity, but still a Survey Code available.
No matter if there is a prize or not, you’ll need to abide by a few rules to enter:
- Be 18 Years or Older
- Fill out the survey within 7 days of obtaining a receipt
- Head to InformTarget.com
- Enter User ID
- Enter User Password
- Complete 30-second survey
Sweepstakes Could Still Be Here Through Bullseye Insider
Sweepstakes opportunities like the one Target run when they reward up to $1,000 in Gift Cards sometimes disappear or run out of entries. You can still fill out surveys through InformTarget and be entered into an exclusive survey club that target offers called BullsEyeInsider. You’ll find a link to the page when you finish a survey, with or without the sweepstakes opportunity.
Target’s REDCard vs. Walmart and Amazon
The REDcard is a pure money hack. You get 5% off of everything at Target. Other Superstores are catching on to this fantastic value proposition, and now Amazon and Walmart have their offerings…
Amazon Prime Visa Signature
Amazon introduced an incredible Credit Card offer earlier this year. Like many other benefits through your Prime account like unlimited Amazon photo storage, or Twitch Prime, once you are signed up for Amazon Prime, you now are capable of applying (and possibly being approved) for their 5% cash back card.
Because you already are paying $99 per year for the Prime, Amazon figures that would be good enough to cover the annual fee, so no annual fee with your active Prime Membership!
Not sold? Remember with new services being introduced almost monthly, even Amazon’s Prime Fresh is a part of the 5% cash back you receive from utilizing this card. This includes the newer Whole Foods selections that Fresh has recently added.
For those loyal to the Bullseye, the REDCard is a formidable asset to carry around in your pocketbook or wallet. You won’t receive cash back, rewards, or any products with this card. What you receive may be the selling point: 5% off any Purchase at Target (or Target.com). You’ll also receive complimentary Free Shipping (and excellent return policy) for being a cardholder for any online purchases. Availability of both Debit and Credit Card formats keeps the approval process open for those with fair or bad credit.
We’ve been notified that Targetdoes not offer the Target PrePaid REDcard anymore, so those who are looking to load up a card with cash and initiate that 5% discount, sorry for the news!
Walmart’s Credit Card
A modest 3% off at Walmart.com and 2% at Walmart Gas Stations is the weakest offer of all 3 cards, however factor in Walmart’s incredibly low prices and you now have a decent card on your hands.
Why You Should Get the Target REDCard Debit
When it comes to these three major US merchants there can be no question that each card money is saving ability. Amazon’s Prime Signature and it’s included 5% Cash Back is the best offer for any Credit Card and even matches saving ability of most credit cards out there. However, if you have bad or no credit, you can link a Target REDcard to your bank account and earn 5% off for every Target purchase using Target’s DEBIT CARD option. So in essence, the Target REDCard Debit card is super flexible and a worthy sign up!
