We’ve covered getting price change refunds before through apps like Earny, Paribus, and Sift, but now there’s a new competitor within this space: Waldo.
Waldo is one of the more unique, and very new entrants that take advantage of a credit card’s ability to get you a price change refund. Working with an impressive list of merchants including Walmart, Amazon, and Costco, this new app sounds exciting to money hackers.
What is a price change refund you may be asking?
If you buy something for $50 one day, and it goes on sale for $25 the very next day, you should be able to get a price change refund of $25!
Waldo will take a percentage (25%) of the refund for themselves since that is how they’ll stay in business.
How to Start Using Waldo
Getting started with Waldo takes a few easy steps.
- Sign up for the program using a valid email (Gmail Preferred)
- Connect a Valid Credit Card (w/ Price Protection Ability)
- Let Waldo scan for purchases and refunds
- That’s it!
We’ll see how this entrant compares to the growth of Earny, which has been seen on various outlets like Yahoo Email, and Paribus which has been integrated with Capital One. Waldo aims to be the most simple of the price changers out there.
While there are more established competitors in the space, Waldo’s easy sign up was a breeze. Still, you’ll need an applicable Credit Card for this thing to work…which we’ve found to be a hard aspect to communicate.
